About natural hazards, Our Grade 8 students got hands-on with a dynamic science lesson, focusing on volcanoes and how individuals and societies respond to these powerful forces of nature!
Students had a blast creating their own mini-volcanic eruptions using baking soda, vinegar and dishwashing liquid, simulating the intense natural processes that occur during a volcanic eruption. They learned about the different types of volcanoes, the science behind eruptions, and how volcanic activity affects the environment.
About Human responses, students explored how communities prepare for volcanic disasters. They also brainstormed real-life strategies to protect people and minimize damage when facing such natural hazards.
Now, please check out the photos to see our young scientists in action! It’s inspiring to watch them explore, experiment, and learn about the world around us.
