Book Character Day at Westlink was a burst of color, joy, and imagination as part of our much-loved Book Week celebrations! Students of all ages came dressed as their favorite characters—from storybook classics to modern-day heroes—transforming our school into a vibrant world of stories.
The day was a visual feast: witches and wizards strolled the hallways, animals and adventurers gathered in classrooms, and brave warriors walked side by side with clever detectives. Every costume told a story, and every student brought a piece of literature to life.
More than just a fun dress-up day, Book Character Day encourages creativity, language development, and a lifelong love of reading. By stepping into the shoes of their literary heroes, students connect more deeply with the characters and themes they’ve read about—enhancing comprehension and sparking imagination.
This special event also created a wonderful sense of community, as students, teachers, and staff shared in the excitement and swapped favorite titles and reading recommendations. From early readers to advanced book lovers, everyone had a chance to shine and celebrate the power of storytelling.
At Westlink, we believe reading is a gateway to empathy, creativity, and endless possibilities. Book Character Day was a joyful reminder of the magic that books bring into our lives.
Well done to all our young readers and book lovers—you brought the stories to life! 📖✨
