Market Day is a part of their Unit of Inquiry on “How Businesses Work,” our Grade 4 students recently brought their learning to life. This is a student-led event full of creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial spirit. With booths selling everything from Pet Rocks and food to origami crafts and beauty services, the students launched their very own small businesses right on campus.
The event was more than just fun—it was a valuable learning experience. Students explored real-world business concepts such as identifying customer needs, conducting simple market research, pricing products, promoting their services, and collaborating with peers. From planning to execution, they practiced problem-solving and leadership skills in a practical, engaging way.
Funds raised during Market Day will support their upcoming G4 Overnight Camp, giving their efforts an even more meaningful purpose. Some booths were so popular they sold out completely—proving that when young minds are empowered, amazing things happen!
At Westlink, we believe in experiential learning that helps students grow into confident, creative thinkers. Market Day was a wonderful showcase of what happens when curiosity meets action. Bravo to all our young entrepreneurs—you’ve taken your first steps into the exciting world of business. We can’t wait to see what you do next!
