The International High School Diploma (IHSD) at Westlink
The WIS International High School Diploma (IHSD) will be an accredited High School Diploma qualification. It will be similar to a US High School Diploma as its fundamental purpose is to provide accessible yet rigorous courses of study for WIS senior students to support their university entrance.
The IHSD is offered as an alternative to the IBDP for students at WIS who may not gain entry into the IBDP but wish to pursue a well-grounded and balanced academic pathway into university. The IHSD will be able to be used for entry into international universities, both in Vietnam and overseas.
The IHSD is a two-year program and is studied in Years 12-13.
Course Outline
Students will undertake and must pass the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science, and Vietnamese as well as two elective subjects (total 6 subjects). Electives will be offered in the arts and humanities. In addition, students will undertake the same Community, Action, Service (CAS) program as IBDP students, as well as a course in critical thinking. Specific detail on each of the courses will be available prior to the opening of the program.
IHSD students will have the same opportunities as other senior students to participate in the extracurricular activities and programs of the school, and will have the same expectations in terms of work ethic, participation and leadership.
