Teacher Sandip, who is Grade 4 PYP Homeroom Teacher, is originally from India and grew up in the streets without knowing much about his parents. At the age of 8, he was adopted and grew up in Washington DC, USA. With a passion for learning, he graduated with a BA in Psychology, Business Administration, and Master in Elementary Education at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, USA.

During 10 years working in education, he shared that the students represent part of his heart. Each day he desires to teach them not only academically but also how to help them “strive and don’t give up” to achieve their goals.

In addition to his teaching at Westlink, Teacher Sandip is an active member in every school activity. Recently, he decided to become a volunteer for Street Child United in the sports event Street Child Cricket World Cup and will be going back to his homeland, India in September for the first time to support opportunities for street children.

“I chose to volunteer in the Street Child Cricket World Cup because I want to give back to where I was from and help the unheard be heard. I want to show other children that their life can change. I would like to give big thanks to our ISP for giving me the opportunity to contribute to the community.“

From next week, Mr. Sandip and other teachers will host Spirit Week and Charity Day aim at raising funds for Street Child United. It marks the start of the awareness-raising month for our official charity partner #StreetChildUnited!

We can’t wait to see all the incredible ways Mr. Sandip and our Westlink community will help the lives of underprivileged children and give them a chance for a brighter future.
