Our first Battle of the Books was an exciting and engaging experience, inspiring students to read, analyze, and recall details from their books. During practice quizzes, their enthusiasm was incredible—some even went beyond expectations, writing summaries and reflections.
With 11 teams and 56 students from Grades 3–5, the school battle was filled with energy and great sportsmanship. Students cheered for each other and celebrated the top teams. The top two teams trained for a month before competing against seven international schools in Hanoi, taking on the role of teachers by creating questions and leading book reviews.
The final battle was a fun and memorable event, fostering friendships and a love for reading. Many students are already asking about next year’s competition, showing how much they enjoyed the experience.
This was just the beginning! We plan to make Battle of the Books an annual event, with school librarians meeting in April to reflect on this year and start preparing for the next. Get ready for another great competition!
