Our Grade 8A students recently participated in an enlightening debate session on the Pros & Cons of Nuclear Energy. By integrating their knowledge from both MYP Science and Individuals & Societies, students delved into this significant global issue from multiple perspectives.
At Westlink, we champion the power of debate to cultivate critical thinking, enhance public-speaking skills, and inspire students to develop well-rounded viewpoints on real-world topics – Nuclear Energy. This debate exemplifies how we integrate debating into diverse subjects – whether it’s Science, Individuals & Societies, or English to help students refine their communication, reasoning, and research skills. 
Through these debates, students not only raise their voices on global challenges but also learn to listen, evaluate arguments, and express themselves with confidence and respect. These are essential skills that will serve them well in both their academic and future careers!
